Building a character

I sit here in at my messy desk, puffing furiously at my cigarette, and sipping my frappuccino, trying to build more characters on paper.  I know what I want, but I have to think of what others would also want.  This whole process reminds me of a relationship and how it will make or break a great character.

We start out hiding behind walls, slowly but surely, we remove brick by brick.  Once our inner selfs are exposed, we get attacked!  The person attacking us says "I love you", but deep down we translate that as "I will break you."  The war is waged, every weapon of mouth destruction is used in an attempt to make that person understand you more.

Nobody is safe, men, women, children, not even your boss when you're under attack and the reserves are running low.  Everyone around you will suffer, not only you.  Friends will be lost, mothers will be mad, children will be scared, enemies will be made.  Then, if both people are not insane and taking to many prescriptions for self numbing, you get to move into the next phase of character shaping.

The years go by (if you are lucky enough), both sides have waved white flags, both embrace, and forgiveness begins.  They both now know each others weaknesses, and strengths.  The woman gives her all, the man gives what he thinks shes wants from him.  At first glance, these people would have one to believe they're the perfect couple, like land that was once charred from a fire, beauty now resides.

What the hell is my whole point to this?

My point; It takes massive amounts of time to build character, just make sure you are a good one when all is said and done.

Now back to writing this movie!  :)
Take care all, and love like you never been hurt, every time.

  1. Your writing is like reading the bible, you need to know how to read in between the lines lol.In all honesty I know you will do your best and succeed in what every you accomplish for what ever comes your way. Stay strong and don't let anyone steer you in the wrong direction. You now know what you want, go after it and put your whole heart into it. You won't fail coffee its always been in your blood since day one. You may lose things in life that are important to you, but always remember the lil angel that you can,t see, will always be by your side always.
